With the introduction of battery backup operators and MyQ technology, there are a few reasons that your garage door could be beeping. This article pertains to the Liftmaster Chamberlain brand of garage door operators which also includes Sears, Craftsman and Access Master.

  1. If your opener is has a timer to close feature or MyQ technology, the garage door opener will beep and the lights will flash as a warning that the door is about to close.
  2. If your opener is a battery backup unit, the opener will beep when operating on battery power.
  3. If your opener is a battery backup unit, the opener will beep if the battery is low or needs to be replaced. The battery status indicator on the motor head will be a solid red LED if the battery needs to be replaced. Contact your local garage door professional for service or advice on how to unplug the battery until it can be serviced.
